Our Vaccination Schedule
Canine Vaccination Schedule
VX1 – Puppies 6-8 weeks of age
Our first set of puppy vaccines include Distemper / Hepatitis / Parvovirus / Parafluenza Vaccine; Corona Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine and deworming. Please bring previous vaccine records to ensure that we get your new puppy started with the right set of vaccines. Breeders typically vaccinate new puppies with the Distemper / Hepatitis / Parvovirus / Parafluenza Vaccine prior to finding new homes for their pups. In this case, we typically recommend VX2 with a Bordetella Vaccine.
VX2 – Puppies 9-11 weeks of age
Our second set of puppy vaccines include Distemper / Hepatitis / Parvovirus / Parafluenza Vaccine; Giardia Vaccine, Leptospira Vaccine, Fecal Examination and deworming. Additionally, we include a Complementary Puppy Kit which includes important documentation on zoonotic diseases, plus other important information you may need to know regarding your new puppy. Furthermore, we provide a complimentary dose of Frontline to get your pet started on the right track with preventing fleas and ticks.
VX3 – Puppies 12-14 weeks of age
Our third set of puppy vaccines include Distemper / Hepatitis / Parvovirus / Parafluenza Vaccine; Lymes Vaccine, Leptospira Vaccine, Fecal Examination and a 1-year Rabies Vaccine. Remember - The Texas Rabies Law states that each puppy needs 2 Rabies Vaccines within a 365 day period, before they can go to a 3-year vaccine. Therefore, we administer the 1st Rabies Vaccine when the puppy is 12-15 weeks and suggest that the puppy get a followup vaccine within 360 days. That second Rabies Vaccine will be a 3-year vaccine.
Semi Annuals - every 12 months
Our semi-annual vaccines includes Bordetella Vaccine, Lymes Vaccine & Leptospira Vaccine. During this appointment you will have the opportunity to purchase more heartworm prevention and flea control. Any concerns you have regarding your pets' health should be addressed with the nurse.
Canine Annuals - every 12 months
Our annuals include a Comprehensive Exam - during this exam our veterinarian will examine your pet from nose to tail. A number of issues will be evaluated. A Distemper / Hepatitis / Parvovirus / Parafluenza Vaccine will be administered and we will also complete a Fecal Examination to ensure that your pet is free from intestinal parasites and a Heartworm Test to ensure your pet is heartworm negative. A Rabies Vaccine will be administered at this time, if required.
